Early mammoth grade mallard drake, sloped head in original paint and condition. The decoy has a solid body with a factory patch on the left side back. Overall a hard to find and very strong example. Original glass eyes are intact with no damage. The decoy is not stamped Evans, but looks like it is stamped "Gordon" twice. Retains the old weight on the bottom. (Item 1114) Asking Price: SOLD
Mammoth canvasback drake in all original paint. Has average wear from use across the entire body. Has a more rounded head. Both speculum have a small amount of missing paint. Both glass eyes are intact with no cracks. Branded on the bottom F.W and painted brand of F.B.W. (Item 1025) Asking Price: $575.00
Competitive grade mallard pair in original condition and paint. They appear to be rig mates. The bodies retain the original lathe marks with rough heads. The drake has a minor chip out on the right side of the breast. Drake has a tight crack in the bottom from when the decoy was made. Previously weighted and barely hunted over. The hen is in equally excellent condition. Small hole in the front left breast area and a few shot marks on the right side. Chip to the top of the tail that is barely noticeable. Later grade mammoth bluebill hen in all original condition and paint. Very minor wear from use. The decoy has a very tight crack on the right top. There is a factory crack on the left side (pictured) with joint fastener nails in the front and back and original filler. This is a testament to Walter being frugal and never wasting a decoy. There is a tight crack to the right hand side (pictured) which has a joint fastener nail on the front and back side. Minor wear across all of the body but still a very strong decoy. Herter’s Model Perfect mallard drake in excellent (almost mint) original condition and paint made by Artistic Woodcarving for Herter’s. One of the best I have seen in a long time. Glass eye, hollowed out from bottom with bottom board. Circa 1940. (Item 301) Asking Price: SOLD
Outstanding pair of painted eye bluebill decoys. All original paint and condition. This is a rig mate pair with both being stamped "C. P. Bossert" on the bottom. Both retain the original weights and leather anchor line strap. The drake is in all original condition. There is a shot mark by the back of the neck. Very minor wear to the paint. The hen is also in great original condition with a shot mark on the back about 2 inches from the neck. (Item 1102/1103) Asking Price: SOLD
Very nice and all original pair of tack eye blue bills. The bodies are the same size as the standard grade glass eye decoys. These are a rig mate pair of decoys. Near perfect mallard hen decoy. Outstanding original paint. Small separation by the neck. Bill is currently a pink color, but you could see green under paint. All original and unique pair of bluebill decoys. All wood bodies and heads, with glass eyes. Leather anchor strap with lead pad weight. Some minor scrapes and bumps, but otherwise great. Both decoys are signed Barnegat Bay Decoys, Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Circa 1980. They are also both signed by Art Birdsall, Captain Chip Allsopp, and Frederick Brown. Decoy is stamped GUTWEIN.
